This is an area of many streams, lakes and reservoirs, including
the Gold Medal Waters of the Rio Grande, noted for unparalleled

serious hiker, as well as jeep trails and ghost towns to explore.
Nearby are the Creede Repertory Theater, famous narrow gauge train
trips, Mesa Verde National Park, Great Sand Dunes, hot springs, rafting on the
Rio Grande River, rock climbing, trail rides, championship golf, rock hounding and gold panning.

Wolf Creek Ski Area, open from the first of November till Easter,
was rated by Snow Country Magazine readers as having the best
snow quality and third least crowded area in the Western U.S.
and Canada. Located 15 miles to the northeast on highway 160,
Riverbend Resort is one of the closest lodges to the ski area.
With National Forest on two sides, we are the ideal spot for cross
country skiers, snow shoers, snowmobilers, and those who just
want to play in the snow.
